Westpak invested in an HP Indigo 20000 digital press

Westpak invested in an HP Indigo 20000 digital printing machine, which installation work was completed in the summer of 2018. Westpak plans to grow its business operations and acquire new customers by offering more flexibility and options for various small series and personalised prints.

As part of the transfer to new technology, Westpak procured an HP Indigo 20000 press to strengthen its existing High-Resolution Printing technology. The press that uses semi-wide rolls, and is intended for diverse and large capacity production, can be used to print excellent quality prints on flexible packaging.

Westpak aims to reduce preparation waste, for the ability to print on various materials, to reduce the cleaning need of the press and reduce the use of solvent-based ink. These are just a few of the many advantages of HP’s printing technology, as Westpak’s Managing Director Jonas Skutthälla states:

“The continuous development of the packaging market makes it extremely interesting to operate in the industry, as the life cycles of products become shorter and the amount and complexity of design increases. The new technology allows us to be able to offer varied printing to our customers.”

“Out cooperation partners already consider us to be the market’s most high-quality printing company, which has the most flexible and skilled organisation. Our decision to introduce the HP Indigo 20000 takes us even further. The new investment allows us to see many interesting opportunities in terms of our customers, and we will further invest in new high-quality options to ensure an excellent service. This procurement also reduces our customers’ risk in launching new products on the market. We see ourselves as a service provider, not just a film supplier.”

In principle, in addition to the new press that is intended for the needs of the food product industry, Westpak is also planning on building a network of designers and content producers in order to offer its customers a complete solution for their packaging needs.
